JL Level 1 Build - Suspension lift and 35 Inch Tires
The JL Level 1 Package is a great way to increase off road performance, street ride and proper upgraded stance. While we consider this an "entry level" package, we've chosen high quality components that represent real performance upgrades, with a quality suspension that you can upgrade to suit your needs, or enjoy as is with no further modifications needed. One of the key features of this package is moderation in both suspension lift height and tire size. The 2.5" JKS JSpec Suspension is the perfect, standalone suspension system for the daily driver, and the 35 inch tire choices included represent a modest upgrade in tire size and capability that won't rob you of valuable horsepower and street performance and work perfectly with factory 17 and 18 inch wheels.

JSPEC Wrangler JL J-Venture 2.5inch w/ Fox Adventure Series Shocks

Front Adjustable Track Bar and Rear Track Bar Bracket to correct axle positioning under vehicle.
Front Sway Bar Quicker Disconnects and Brake Line Brackets to allow for increased offroad articulation.

Front Caster Cam Locks to correct front end caster once lifted.
SteerSmarts YETI JL/JT Sector Shaft Brace with Frame Side Track Bar Reinforcement Bracket
Trail Jeeps strongly recommends a sector shaft brace to guard against premature steering box failure on any lifted application with a factory steering box.
The YETI XD™ JL/JLU/JT Sector Shaft Brace With Frame Side Track Bar Reinforcement Bracket was engineered to bolt onto the stock track bar mount on the frame. The purpose of this piece is two-fold. First, the sector shaft support is meant to help minimize the aluminum and steel steering gears from flexing/deflecting/moving when cycling your steering system side to side. The second part of the product is to reinforce the frame side track bar mounting location to help minimize the deflection of this frame side bracket and ensure that the mount doesn't break under extreme stress.
Nitto Recon Grapplers
- The Nitto Recon Grappler is an aggressive all terrain with impeccable street manners, snow and wet performance and surprising off road chops! The Recon Grappler All Terrain is our default choice for this type of build, however Hybrid and Mud Terrain options are available at no additional charge depending on what you're looking for out of your tires.
- For a Stage 1 JL, Trail Jeeps recommends keeping tire size increases to a 35 inch tire in an 11.50 inch size for factory wheels, and 12.50 wide for aftermarket wheels. With the gearing in the JL's excellent 8 speed or 6 speed manual, any performance loss is minimal, rendering the need for regearing moot unless you're doing a lot of towing or hauling.
- This tire can be had for 17 or 18 factory wheels. A 35 inch tire requires an extended spare tire mount to carry a your spare.
- Other tire options are available for this package, and performance wheel upgrades are available!
Teraflex Spare Tire Mount
For non-XR Rubicons and all other JLs, you'll need a spare tire extension bracket to give you room to mount your 35 inch spare. The Teraflex is our favorite design out their, and is able to be combined with their HD Spare Tire Carrier in the future. It is also expandable to include your back up camera and can house a license plate if you choose to move away from the factory bumper.
It is worth noting that while you *can* mount a 35 inch tire using this bracket and your factory hinges, we strongly recommend that you consider upgrading to the Teraflex HD Spare Tire Carrier in the long term, as over time the additional weight of the spare tire bracket and the larger than factory spare can and will warp the weak factory hinges, and can even warp the door itself. If you have the Mopar heavy duty spare tire carrier installed from the factory, you're good to go!
