JK Alpha HD Adjustable Spare Tire Carrier & Adjustable Spare Mount Kit 5x5
To fit a 35 inch spare tire on a JK Wrangler, a spare tire carrier upgrade is required for strength and accommodation of a spare tire larger than 33 inches. Trail Jeeps recommends sticking with gate mount carriers for simplicity, one handed opening and rattle free performance on the street and trails.
The Teraflex HD Alpha Carrier and Spare Tire Mount is our go-to spare tire carrier solution, featuring a beefy hinge assembly, adjustability for carrying up to a 40 inch spare, along with back up camera and license plate support all in an easy to operate package with great fit an finish.
Steer Smarts Yeti XD JK Rear Adjustable Track Bar-Red
For the Level 3 build package, we include what we consider to be the ultimate adjustable track bar for the JK Wrangler - The Steer Smarts YETI XD track bar.
This massive track bar has forged ends that can withstand the impacts associated with off-road use. They're designed with clearances in mind to eliminate interference from high-performance adjustable suspensions. They're double adjustable, so you don't have to remove them to adjust the axle, and they utilize rubber bushings for increased ride comfort.
Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T (37x12.50R17 LT) x5
The Nitto Trail Grappler is our favorite tire here at Trail Jeeps. Despite it being a true mud terrain, this tire is actually great on the road, and with proper rotation, we regularly see them last more than 30,000 miles even with hard core off road abuse.
The tread blocks are designed to be aggressive - and yet quiet - off-road tires, making this the quietest aggressive mud terrain we have driven. There are a lot of great mud terrain tires out there, many with great street manners, but most get loud as they wear compared to the Trail Grappler. Off-road, performance is obviously the Trail Grappler's strongest attribute, with an unparalleled ability to find traction in dirt and rocks, clear the treads in even the goopiest mud, and its tread compound sticks to slick rock-like a lizard while also providing great streetwear characteristics.
The Trail Grappler's 3-ply construction is also as close to indestructible as you can get with a steerable off road tire. Everyone at Trail Jeeps has owned this tire, and we can attest to their durability, having put them through some of the craziest off-road situations you can imagine.
The one downfall of the Trail Grappler, which the daily driver should consider, is that they are not great in hard-packed snow and icy conditions. They carve up deep snow like mud, but their lack of siping and large surface area contact cause them to struggle in hard-packed snow and ice. They are also decent in wet conditions, but the driver should just be aware that they are a mud terrain while braking and cornering during adverse weather conditions.
Method Race Wheels 701 Bead Grip Matte Black plus lug kit, SPLINE, 1/2-20
Quickly after its release, the Method Bead Grip became our favorite, do-everything wheel choice for Jeep builds. Method's Bead Grip technology allows deflation of tires down to pressures that previously would have required beadlock wheels to ensure tires didn’t debead.
We have found the Bead Grip to be lightweight, easy to balance, and tremendously capable in off-road situations, replacing the need for complicated and expensive bead lock wheels for most off-road enthusiasts. They are serviceable at any conventional tire shop with a strong enough tire machine, and don't leak down and require maintenance like a beadlock.
We are comfortable airing a Bead Grip down to 10psi on the trails, which is low enough to tackle pretty much anything, but if you regularly get into hard-core off-roading, you can upgrade to a bead lock wheel.
The one major downside to a Method Bead Grip is its lack of a removable/replaceable ring. This wheel is very capable off-road, but it takes damage along the bead in heavy rock, leading to sharp edges and permanent scoring.
FOX Factory Race Series 2.0 ATS Stabilizer
Controversial as it may be, the steering stabilizer's job is to absorb shock loads from the tires and keep those movements from making their way into the steering box and steering wheel. They aren't there to stop death wobble; most stabilizer options only numb the steering feel. High-quality one-way stabilizers can also cause steering pull, and while they do provide better dampening, they are not enough to justify upgrading away from the factory steering stabilizer.
Enter the Fox ATS Steering Stabilizer, which is, in our opinion, the only way to go if you are looking to improve dampening for your large tires while not negatively affecting drivability.
The ATS's through rod design doesn’t cause the Jeep to pull to one side, while the two-way nitrogen cylinder significantly improves protecting the component's shock loading. The Fox ATS Steering Stabilizer features 24 clicks of adjustment, so you can decide how much input it has on your steering feel; a remote reservoir provides the fluid needed to prevent it from fading off-road.
Adam's Driveshaft OEM Flange Style JK Front 1350 CV Driveshaft [Extreme Duty Series] Solid U-Joint
The front "Rzeppa" driveshafts are surprisingly strong and able to withstand abuse, but they are vulnerable to trail damage; one rock strike can easily compromise their shape, which is where they get their strength. The Rzeppa joint is also not considered field serviceable, and their service life on a lifted vehicle is somewhere between 40,000 and 70,000 miles.
We take any driveshaft concerns associated with a heavily modified Jeep and throw them out the window by replacing the front and rear with burly Adams 1350 driveshafts. A 1350 is considered the standard "unbreakable" driveshaft, providing plenty of strength for whatever you can throw at it. 1350 U-Joints are also readily available at any parts store and are field serviceable, so if you experience failure on the trail, you can drop the driveshaft, install a new U-joint with common hand tools, and be back on the trail quickly.
Adams Jeep JK 1350 driveshafts are the strongest driveshafts on the aftermarket. They use only the best driveshaft components made by American companies Spicer and Neapco and are proudly made in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Key Benefits:
Enhanced Capability and Performance: The optimized gear ratio improves wheel torque delivery, allowing for better traction and control. Towing performance is improved when you install the correct gear ratio for your vehicle setup by providing increased torque at lower speeds, making it easier to pull heavy loads without straining the engine. This means smoother, more efficient towing, whether you're hauling a trailer or carrying gear for your next adventure.
Increased Fuel Efficiency at Highway Speeds: Contrary to what one might expect, the correct gear ratio can contribute to better fuel efficiency. By optimizing the engine's RPM at highway speeds, the ring and pinion gear set helps maintain a more efficient fuel consumption rate, saving you money and extending your journeys.
Superior Strength and Durability: Revolution Gear and Axle is renowned for its commitment to quality. Our ring and pinion gear sets are made from high-grade steel using precision gear cutting and heat treatment processes that meet or exceed Original Equipment standards. This results in a product that performs exceptionally and withstands the rigors of both daily driving and extreme off-road conditions.
Easy Installation and Quiet Operation: With over 40 years of manufacturing experience, Revolution Gear and Axle ring and pinions are preferred by installers for smooth and consistent setup. Our gear sets offer quiet operation, ensuring a comfortable ride without the annoying gear whines often associated with aftermarket gear sets.
Upgrading the Ring and Pinion set by Revolution Gear and Axle is more than just a modification; it's an investment in your vehicle's performance, efficiency, and enjoyment.
Revolution Dana 44 3.73 and Down (4-Pinion) 30SPL, Elocker
Operation
Under normal conditions, the ELocker performs as an open differential. When an obstacle is encountered, such as a rocky trail, muddy ditch, or other challenges, the driver presses a dashboard switch. The electromagnetic mechanism then locks, equally sending 100% of the available torque to both wheels. A second press of the switch deactivates the unit to resume everyday driving.
Performance
ELocker internal gears are net-forged, providing the strength and durability necessary for off-road and recreational driving. Its electronic control also provides added reliability over similar air-controlled products.
Eaton Elocker 4
The 4-pinion gear design provides the increased capability for today's higher driveline torques. Fastest engagement time (.14 seconds) on Direct Acting ELocker4
Revolution 07-18 Jeep Wrangler JK X and Sahara US Discovery Series 4340 Chromoly Rear Axle Kit 30 SPLINE
This rear axle is an excellent upgrade for a Jeep Wrangler JK Non-Rubicon. It is manufactured with 4340 Chromo steel, which offers 40% more durability and strength than the OE driveshaft from Jeep. This strength and durability would allow the Jeep to handle all terrains easily and whatever the trail throws at the vehicle. Even the black oxide coating on the steel further enhances the rear axle's strength and durability and prevents corrosion. The axle shafts have a double-drilled pattern for 5x5 and 5x5.5, so various wheels can be chosen.
Dynatrac HD Balljoints for 2007-2018 Jeep JK - Knurled
Balljoints have been a major shortcoming of the JK and JL/JT Wrangler. We rarely see factory balljoints last more than 30,000 miles, with larger-than-stock tires and even moderate off-road use, which is why we replace factory balljoints with Dynatrac Heavy-Duty Balljoints!
These will be the last balljoints your Jeep will ever need. We adopted these balljoints as our go-to one size fixes as soon as we tried them on our own Jeeps just after they were released, transforming one of the Wrangler's weak links into one of it's best attributes. Dynatrac ball joints are the strongest, most durable, and highest quality, featuring heat-treated high-strength billet bodies with chromoly stems.
Dynatrac Rebuildable HD Balljoints for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK solve wear and excessive movement issues that can lead to increased tire wear, loose steering feel, and decreased stability. With larger tires, factory ball joints can develop excessive play and movement in as little as 20,000 miles.
The heat-treated, precision-ground stainless steel ball meets military specifications. Unique seals prevent contamination, and the ball joints have greasable fittings and Teflon-coated wear points to provide a long, durable life. OE style balljoints require them to be pressed in and out of the axle's knuckle C's for replacement, making them a problematic trail fix. Dynatrac balljoints are rebuildable on the vehicle with common hand tools.
These are some of our very favorite mods, and throughout the years of using them, we've only seen a handful of failures, all of which have been able to be rebuilt on the vehicle, never coming loose from the C's or requiring a full replacement.
PSC Adventure Steering Kit for the Jeep Wrangler JK 3.6L
FEATURES:
Eliminates excessive on-center steering wheel "play"
Eliminates pump overheating
Increased Torque Output turns 35" and larger tire sizes
Improved turning capability when locking differentials are engaged
When you install big tires, it is harder for your Jeep's steering pump and steering box to move those tires.
This is the most economical way to increase the strength of your steering, it's biggest benefit is that it is simple, the hardware is cheap and it retains the expensive factory pump and steering box, which has proven itself to be very durable. It has an excellent steering feel, and many customers find it to be enough of a boost to comfortably run a 37 or 38-inch tire at low pressures off-road.
We wanted to allow customers to upgrade their steering further by including this excellent, cost-effective upgrade as part of this package. Upgrades are available from PSC, and all of them are good, but are an added expense. You can learn more about these upgrades in our Steering Section.
